Web Usability Specialist
Job Summary/ Major Duties and Responsibilities
 Analyze and implement incoming web requests from content originators (Web Content Managers) ensuring the appropriateness and making improvements or alternative usability recommendations where required in order to ensure the best user experience
 Provide recommendations and decisions to support the WCP team members on basic information architecture matters such as navigation structure, labeling, organizing information on web pages etc.
 Be an expert source of information on interpreting and implementing the Publication Standards and Usability Guidelines across the many different type of web requests and the varied situations involved
 Play an active role in migration of existing mini-sites into a new Content Management System by suggesting new and improved navigation and information structure including liaising closely with internal businesses and other stakeholders
 Visualize and correctly structure websites on paper and in the planning stages prior to implementation
 Provide backup and manage WCP team in WCP Supervisor’s absence
 Stay up-to-date with industry best practice, accepted standards, market trends and suggest adoption where appropriate
Minimum Educational Attainment / Course
 Degree or diploma in Cognitive Psychology, HCI, Computer Science, Human Factors/Ergonomics or other related qualification
 Minimum 3 years experience in Web usability and accessibility, and able to show strong portfolio of relevant work
 Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written
 Additional languages useful

TECHNICAL SKILLS
 Understanding of the user experience and have hands-on experience of in its implementation including user-centered design
 Experience in user task research, functional/navigational flow diagrams, wire-framing, prototyping, etc.
 Good knowledge of SEO development and search engine listing, and hands-on experience of integrating usability with the latest SEO best practice
 Exposure to HTML, Dreamweaver, CMS applications, Photoshop, graphic design principles and internet technologies
 Experience of web projects and a basic understanding of technical areas helpful
SOFT SKILLS
 Able to use innate personal judgment to correctly apply a given principle across varied situations
 Must have strong common sense and logic thinking, the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively
 A natural talent for communication and organization, a strategic thinker who thrives on taking responsibility and delivering excellent results
